Hamas: Jalamah operation “warning message to the occupation”

Wednesday 14-September-2022

The Hamas Movement has applauded the shooting operation that took place in the morning at a West Bank checkpoint calling it a “warning message to the Israeli occupation state which is making preparations for major settler break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque” soon.

In a statement on Wednesday Hamas stressed that “the Palestinian people and their resistance are always ready to defend Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque regardless of the sacrifices.”

The Movement expressed its pride in the martyred resistance fighters who carried out the operation describing them as “heroes” affirming that the participation of Ahmed Abed member of the Palestinian Authority (PA) intelligence service in the operation confirmed that “the Palestinian people are hard to domesticate.”

For his part Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif Qanu stated that the Jalamah shooting operation was in response to the intended mass desecration of the Aqsa Mosque by Jewish settlers adding that more resistance operations and confrontations would follow.

“The occupation will not enjoy security at checkpoints and intersections and everywhere it exists. Its soldiers and settlers will remain within the range of fire from our youths and resistance fighters” the spokesman said.

Ahmad and Abdul-Rahman Abed (cousins) from Jenin were shot dead on Wednesday morning following armed clashes with the Israeli occupation forces at the Jalamah checkpoint north of Jenin. An Israeli officer was also killed during this shooting operation.
