Palestinian citizens performed the Friday prayer in the mosque of Nabi Samuel village to the northwest of Occupied Jerusalem in solidarity with the village residents and to condemn the Israeli violations against them.
The Friday preacher said in his sermon that Israel is accelerating its attacks against the Palestinian residents of Nabi Samuel stressing that such crimes (the confiscation of village land in favor of building Jewish-only settlements) violate international laws and conventions.
In a related incident Palestinian protestors marched at the entrance to the checkpoint between Bethlehem and Jerusalem in protest at the Israeli settlement expansion plans against the village of Nabi Samuel.
Israeli soldiers attacked the protest near the Al-Jib village northwest of Jerusalem leaving several Palestinians including an elderly man wounded.
The basic human needs are not met in the village of Nabi Samuel as it has been marginalized after Israel’s construction of the Apartheid Wall in the West Bank.
Moreover the mosque of the village was subjected to continuous Israeli attacks as it was set on fire and barbed wire fence and monitoring cameras were installed around it in addition to banning its restoration in an attempt to turn it into a touristic attraction and a national park.
