An Israeli court extended on Thursday the detention of a Palestinian journalist from occupied Jerusalem Lama Ghosheh for five days on charges of “incitement” through social media.

It is the fourth time Ghosheh’s detention was extended since her arrest over the weekend.

Ghosheh’s husband Yassin Sobeih told local media that she is facing significant incitement charges through Facebook posts which she denies.

Last Sunday Israeli forces scared her children during an arrest raid on the family home in Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem and vandalized most of its contents. Ghosheh’s laptop and smartphone were confiscated during the arrest.

Ghosheh is the mother of two children Karmel five and Qais three. She is a journalist and currently working as a researcher at the Palestinian Museum in Birzeit north of Ramallah and doing a master’s degree in Israeli studies.

Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) on Wednesday said that Israel’s Ofer military court has decided to extend the detention of the Palestinian journalist Alaa al-Rimawi until 19th August.

A PPS lawyer said that the court’s decision followed an earlier decision to extend al-Rimawi’s detention for seven days.

Israeli occupation forces on 30th July arrested al-Rimawi along with four other journalists who were released later.

Since July 2018 Israeli occupation forces have launched a large-scale arrest campaign targeting Palestinian journalists in the West Bank. About nine journalists have been arrested including Ali Dar Ali who was kidnapped from his house at dawn Wednesday in Ramallah.

AL-KHALIL (PIC)– The Israeli military court in Ofer on Wednesday extended the remand of Palestinian journalist Musab Abu Shawer until the next trial hearing scheduled on 7/5/2013.

Fuad Al-Khafsh the director of Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights said that journalist who is a prisoners’ activist was arrested from his home on 25/2/2013.

He said that Musab who works with Al-Khalil radio station attended many hearings but they were always adjourned.

Khafsh said that the Israeli occupation forces arrested four Palestinian journalists in the months of February and March.
