The Israeli occupation authorities released on Wednesday the female prisoner Muna Qa’dan after 18 months in jail.
Qa’dan 50 was arrested on April 12 2021 after Israeli forces violently stormed and searched her family house in Jenin.
Shortly after her release Qa’dan pointed to the difficult detention conditions and ill-treatment the Palestinian female prisoners are subjected to.
Palestinian female prisoners are systematically targeted by the Israeli prison authorities she added.
Soon after her detention Qa’dan was subjected to tough investigation and torture for 27 days in Jalama investigation center.
She was later sentenced to 18 months imprisonment and a fine of 7000 shekels.
Qa’dan spent a total of eight years in Israeli jails in six separate arrests. In 2021 she declared a hunger strike in solidarity with the striking prisoners.
4550 Palestinian prisoners are held in Israeli jails including 31 women 175 minors and more than 700 administrative detainees.
