Scores of Jewish settlers on Tuesday stormed the archaeological site in Sebastia town northwest of the West Bank city of Nablus.
“Jewish settlers stormed the archaeological site in Sebastia under tight Israeli military guard and closed the site preventing Palestinian citizens from reaching its vicinity” the mayor of Sebastia Mohamed Azem said.
Azem added that the Jewish settlers systematically raid the town of Sebastia in an attempt to seize control of its archaeological site.
Earlier on Thursday a Palestinian young man was martyred while 31 others were wounded by Israeli occupation forces’ (IOF) gunfire after clashes erupted between local youths and the IOF in the vicinity of Joseph’s Tomb east of the West Bank city of Nablus.
