Israeli authorities extend Sheikh Salah’s travel ban

Saturday 13-August-2022

Israeli authorities extended the travel ban imposed on Sheikh Ra’ed Salah head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Palestine on Saturday.

Human rights sources reported that Sheikh Ra’ed Salah’s travel restriction order was extended until the 13th of September renewable for six months due to alleged “security reasons”.

Last February the Israeli interior minister Ayelet Shaked issued a decision banning Sheikh Salah from travel for a period of one month subject to a 6-month extension.

Sheikh Salah had been held in home confinement in addition to being subjected to a 15-year forced banishment from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to curb the influence of his activities that condemn the Israeli racist policies practiced in the holy site.

He was released on the 13th of December 2021 from Israeli jail. He was “convicted” by an Israeli court of alleged “incitement to terrorism” and placed in solitary confinement during his 16-month imprisonment term.
