Hamas: Israel’s measures against Gaza “crimes against humanity”

Wednesday 3-August-2022

The Hamas Movement has condemned Israel’s ongoing measures and violations against the population of the besieged Gaza Strip describing them as “crimes against humanity.”

“These measures have made more than two million Palestinians hostage to the occupation state especially women and children with medical conditions and cancer patients who need treatment in hospitals in the West Bank and Jerusalem” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement on Tuesday.

Spokesman Barhoum expressed his Movement’s deep regret and dismay over the international failure to end Israel’s violations against the Gaza population “whose silence will not last.”

“It is no longer acceptable to let such dangerous situation to continue” the spokesman stressed calling for urgent and effective Arab and Islamic action to break the siege on Gaza and support the Palestinian people’s steadfastness in the face of “the Israeli war machine.”

The Israeli occupation authority announced on Tuesday its decision to close the Karam Abu Salem and Beit Hanoun (Erez) border crossings with Gaza until further notice amid concerns of retaliatory attacks by the armed wing of Islamic Jihad following the arrest of its West Bank-based leader Bassam as-Saadi.
