Dozens of Jewish settlers carried out several attacks in Burin town south of Nablus in the northern West Bank on Tuesday evening.
Local sources reported that the settlers attacked Palestinian homes in Burin burned dozens of olive trees and destroyed a number of vehicles.
The attacks were carried out under Israeli occupation forces’ protection the sources added.
Following the attacks clashes erupted between the IOF and settlers on the one hand and local citizens on the other hand.
The IOF soldiers also broke into a local house in the village in an attempt to arrest a child for allegedly being involved in a stone throwing incident. A state of panic spread among women and children during the raid.
Dozens of civilians were treated for teargas inhalation during the attacks while a fire broke out in the nearby fields.
Meanwhile another group of settlers closed a road near the Yitzhar south settlement illegally built in Nablus causing a traffic jam in the area.
Palestinian estimates indicate there are about 650000 settlers living in 164 settlements and 116 outposts in the West Bank including in Occupied Jerusalem.
International law considers all Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank illegal.
