Member of Hamas political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk on Tuesday met with the Secretary-General and spokesman for India’s Janata Dal Party KC Tyagi.
According to a press statement of the Hamas Movement Abu Marzouk presented Tyagi with the political developments related to the Palestinian issue stressing the Palestinian people’s continuous quest to gain their freedom and return to their lands.
Abu Marzouk expressed the Movement’s appreciation of the Indian people’s historical positions in support of the Palestinian people and their rights in addition to the Indian Supreme Court’s decision that condemned and criminalized insulting Prophet Muhammed.
For his part spokesman Tyagi affirmed his country and party’s support for the Palestinian just cause and their firm position in support of the Palestinian people in addition to the need to enhance India’s involvement in the Palestinian cause.
The two parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations at the official and popular levels in the interest of the Palestinian and Indian peoples.
