Spokesman for the Palestinian ministry of health Kamal al-Shakhra said on Monday that the severity of symptoms for those infected with the new wave of coronavirus is more serious than the symptoms from previous ones.
The danger of getting infected with COVID during the new wave is attributed to the severe symptoms adding that nothing of these symptoms were seen in the previous wave spokesman al-Shakhra told the official Voice of Palestine radio.
“The number of new cases during the previous period has been increasing since the number of arrivals from outside the country due to holidays and vacations is increasing” al-Shakhra underlined adding that there is a relative increase in numbers as the infection rate ranges from 18% to 38% in some governorates which is a very high rate.
Al-Shakhra called on citizens to avoid overcrowded places to wear a mask especially in closed areas and to take the vaccinations and the booster dose that help reduce the risk of infection and the symptoms that the patient suffers from.
He stressed that the infected person should stay at home and those who were in contact with an infected person should stay at least three days at home to avoid spreading the disease.
