The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked on Friday a group of mourners carrying the coffin of a Palestinian woman as they were trying to enter her hometown in northern al-Khalil.
According to local sources pallbearers were trying to enter Beit Ummar town to bury the women in its cemetery when Israeli soldiers assaulted them and tried to make them drop the coffin.
The mourners managed to enter the town with the coffin even after the IOF fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades at them.
What happened during this funeral was a repeated scene of the Israeli police’s violent attack last May on Palestinian citizens as they were carrying the coffin of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh — who was shot dead by an Israeli sniper while covering an IOF raid in Jenin.
