A delegation of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds on Monday met the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Duarte Pacheco in Istanbul to discuss the League’s membership in the Union.
During the meeting the IPU President was handed over all the necessary information relevant to the League’s application for observer status in the Union. The decision on the observer membership application will be taken in the coming meeting scheduled to be held in Rwanda.
The delegation led by Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar included the general manager Muhammad Makram Balawi and the head of the relations department Abdullah Al-Beltagy.
The delegation of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds had participated in the 144th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the Indonesian province of Bali.
