The Hamas Movement on Saturday welcomed the positions of the Republic of South Africa and the Parliament of Catalonia Spain that condemned Israeli crimes and racist policies.
The Movement praised the foreign minister of South Africa Naledi Pandor for calling on the international community to prosecute Israel’s brutal crimes that violate Palestinian rights. It also praised the Catalan Parliament for approving a resolution declaring that Israel has committed apartheid crimes against the Palestinian people.
“Such positions expose the racism and brutality of the Israeli occupation and its violation of international laws and conventions. They also constitute a call on the international community to assume its responsibility and prosecute Israel at international criminal courts” the Movement said in a press statement.
For his part the acting speaker of the Palestinian legislative council Dr. Ahmed Bahar confirmed that such positions encourage other parliaments to announce similar resolutions that condemn Israeli crimes and support the just Palestinian cause.
Bahar underlined that these positions renew the call to boycott Israel and prosecute its crimes against Palestinians.
