Saturday 18-June-2022

Dozens of Palestinian citizens and some foreign activists were injured on Friday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked rallies held in different areas of the West Bank to protest Israeli crimes and settlement activities.

According to local sources 18 citizens and six foreign activists were injured when the IOF fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at an agricultural event held in the eastern area of Burin town in southern Nablus.

The Red Crescent said that the IOF assaulted one of its paramedics as he was providing medical assistance for the wounded.

Four citizens were also wounded by rubber bullet injuries and another suffered a fall injury during clashes with the IOF in Beita town south of Nablus.

Seven other citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas after the IOF attacked a peaceful march against settlement and settlers held in Beit Dajan town east of Nablus.

A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that another anti-settlement rally was also quelled by the IOF in Huwara town near Nablus.

In Qalqilya the IOF attacked the weekly anti-settlement march of Kafr Qaddum injuring dozens of participants.

According to the PIC reporter 11 participants in the march were injured by rubber bullets and many others including women and children suffered from inhaling tear gas in Kafr Qaddum village.

The IOF also suppressed participants in a national rally held to protest Israel’s demolition and displacement campaigns in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil.

Local official Fuaad al-Amour said that the IOF quelled an event held under the slogan “No to a new Nakba in Masafer Yatta” in the area of Ein al-Bayda — where a road for Jewish settlers is being built on Palestinian lands.

He explained that the IOF showered the participants with volleys of tear gas canisters and stun grenades injuring dozens of them.
