Hamas Movement said that the appointment of the Israeli representative Gilad Erdan to a senior United Nations position is an affront to the values of justice and freedom and a threat to international peace and security.
The Movement denounced in a press statement on Tuesday evening the appointment of Erdan to the position of Vice-President of the United Nations General Assembly amid opposition from Iran and Syria.
It considered the decision a provocation to the Palestinian feelings and an affront to the international system which is responsible for ending the occupation of Palestine.
Hamas called on the United Nations and all countries supporting peoples’ freedom and right to self-determination to act to change this shameful decision protect human rights and hold war criminals accountable at international courts.
