The Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs said on Thursday that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested 530 Palestinians most of them from Jerusalem during the month of May.
Administrative detention orders issued in May amounted to 157 including 82 new orders and 75 extension orders according to the Commission’s report on the latest developments and violations of prisoners in occupation prisons.
The number of Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons reached 4600 including 31 women 172 children 682 administrative detainees 500 sick prisoners 551 prisoners serving life sentences in addition to 214 prisoners who have been detained for 20 years or more according to the Commission.
