The Israeli Knesset has advanced through a preliminary reading a bill banning Palestine flag from being hung at state-funded institutions.
Israeli media said the vote on Wednesday evening ended by 63 for and 16 against.
Last Sunday the Israeli Knesset’s Ministerial Committee on Legislation approved a bill that would ban raising the Palestinian flag in institutions that are funded or sponsored by the Israeli government.
The bill comes days after Palestinian university students raised the Palestinian flag in Israeli universities to commemorate the Nakba Day (Catastrophe).
