Tuesday 17-May-2022

Hamas Movement mourned the death of Palestinian ex-detainee Ihab al-Kilani a resident of Nablus who died following a battle with cancer one month after he was released from Israeli occupation prisons.

Kilani is a new victim of medical negligence in Israeli occupation jails; he was set free in the middle of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan after cancer spread through his body due lack of proper medical care while in Israeli custody the Movement said in a statement issued Monday.

Hamas held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for Kilani’s death.

Hamas alongside all Palestinian resistance movements will not spare any effort to release all Palestinian detainees from Israeli occupation prisons the statement concluded.

Kilani was diagnosed with cancer shortly after his release when he reached the end-of-life phase with the disease which confirms he was subjected to deliberate medical negligence during his detention.

His family accused the Israeli prison administration of deliberate medical negligence.

Kilani a father of four children the youngest being only three years old was arrested in October 2021 and spent nearly six months in administrative detention without charge or trial to be later released in April.

He earlier spent a total of four years and a half in Israeli jails in separate arrests.

More than 600 Palestinian prisoners suffering from different health problems are currently held in Israeli jails.

Dozens of them are in critical condition suffering from serious diseases including heart and kidney failure paralysis and cancer.
