Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas has claimed full responsibility for the recent Ariel shooting affirming that two of its fighters carried out the operation on April 29 near the illegal settlement of Ariel in Salfit province.
In an official statement on Monday al-Qassam Brigades said that the operation was in response to “the barbaric and brutal Israeli aggression” against Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan stressing that it would not be the last one.
“We take great pride in our brave fighters in the West Bank who are still wielding the ‘Sword of Jerusalem’ alongside their fellow resistance fighters across the occupied territories” its statement read.
Last Friday an Israeli soldier working as a security guard was shot dead in a resistance operation at the western entrance to Ariel settlement near Salfit in the northern West Bank.
Following a massive manhunt the Israeli occupation forces claimed they arrested the Palestinians who killed the soldier and seized two improvised firearms belonging to them during a raid in Qarawat Bani Hassan village near Salfit.
