Ten Palestinians were detained at dawn Saturday at Qalandia checkpoint on their way back home from al-Aqsa Mosque.
Local sources affirmed that the arrested young men were returning from prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem before being stopped and detained at Qalandia checkpoint.
Meanwhile several Palestinians were injured after a group of Jewish settlers attacked a bus carrying worshipers on their way back home from al-Aqsa.
The settlers threw stones and empty bottles at the bus causing heavy material damage. A number of worshipers were also injured during the attack.
Earlier Friday tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed the last Friday prayer of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.
Since morning hours thousands of West Bankers flocked to Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Residents of cities such as Bethlehem and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank lined up at Israeli checkpoints to visit Al-Aqsa. Hundreds of them however were denied access to Occupied Jerusalem.
Meanwhile Israeli police forces were deployed in large numbers throughout the holy city restricting Palestinians’ movement.
