31 Palestinians injured in new Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa

31 Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets while dozens more suffered from teargas inhalation after Israeli police forces stormed in large numbers al-Aqsa Mosque early on Friday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society affirmed that 31 rubber bullet injuries were reported. 11 young men were transferred to hospital for treatment two of them in serious condition.

An injured young man was arrested during the events.

The Society also reported that among the injured was a paramedic while three journalists were wounded in the Israeli savage assault including one who was hit with a rubber-coated bullet in his throat.

Eyewitnesses said that a tree caught fire at al-Aqsa courtyards reportedly due to the intensity of teargas bombs fired by Israeli police.

Earlier Friday thousands of Palestinians performed the dawn prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque amid tight Israeli restrictions.
