Jewish settlers destroyed about 40 olive trees belonging to two Palestinian farmers from Jaba’a village in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
According to Palestinian sources most of the destroyed trees in the village were three to seven years old.
Settlers from the illegal settlement of Bat Ayin located in the Gosh Etzion settlement bloc chopped 40 olive trees after breaking into land owned by the local citizen Ibrahim Abu Louha according to the head of the village’s council Diab Mashaleh.
“The settlers also chopped cactus trees and removed barbed wires in the same land” Mashaleh added.
Such violent actions are usually registered by the Israeli occupation authority against ‘an unknown person(s)’ without the slightest follow-up to the incidents.
