Taher an-Nunu media advisor to the chief of Hamas’s political bureau has affirmed that the Aqsa Mosque will not fall prey to the Israeli occupation regime and its settler groups.
In an interview conducted with him on Sunday by al-Mayadeen satellite channel Nunu talked about the intensive contacts that had been made in recent days by the Hamas leadership with a number of international and regional parties to put them in the picture of the latest developments regarding the Aqsa Mosque and to urge them to intervene to curb Israel’s violations against the Islamic holy site pointing out that the leadership’s contacts with these parties are still ongoing.
He also pointed out that the Palestinian resistance’s joint operations room in Gaza is still in session to assess the situation on the ground and agree on mechanisms for responding to the Israeli practices at the Aqsa Mosque.
The Hamas official called on the Arab countries that recently established ties with the occupation state to revoke their normalization deals and condemn Israel’s crimes in the holy city.
He stressed that “the occupation state must realize that the Aqsa Mosque has a people who are able to protect and defend it with all possible means.”
