Resheq: Israeli attacks on al-Aqsa will not break Palestinian will

Friday 15-April-2022

Member of the Hamas Political Bureau Ezzat Al-Resheq confirmed that Israeli attacks and crimes carried out in Al-Aqsa Mosques at dawn today will not break Palestinian worshipers’ will or prevent them from defending their holy site.

“This Friday will be a memorable day in which our people in Jerusalem will write a heroic epic in defense and support of the holy mosque” he said in a statement issued early on Friday.

He further called on the Palestinian people to continue their defense of the holy site during the holy month of Ramadan.

“Al-Aqsa is a red line and any Israeli provocation will be met with more confrontation” he affirmed.

The Hamas leader pointed out that Israel has contacted several regional countries for fear of any possible escalation in the Palestinian territories during Ramadan.

Consequently several regional and European countries and the United Nations contacted Hamas Movement although the Israeli occupation is the one responsible for the ongoing escalation that followed Israeli provocative attacks in al-Aqsa he continued.

“Hamas’s message to all mediators is that Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa are a red line” he stressed.

This came as violent clashes broke out early Friday at al-Aqsa Mosque after Israeli police stormed the holy site amid heavy firing of teargas bombs and rubber bullets.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians are expected to gather at al-Aqsa Mosque for the second Friday prayer in the holy month of Ramadan.
