An armed Jewish settler carried out a gunfire attack on Sunday morning on two Palestinian schools in Tuqu town east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Bassam Jaber head of the directorate of education in Bethlehem reported that an armed settler stepped out of a bus carrying a group of settlers and opened fire at al-Khansa School and al-Jarmaq School in the town.
Jaber added that the shooting attack sparked a state of panic among the girl students who were inside the schools and forced their administrations to gradually send all the girls home.
