Dozens of Jewish settlers forced their way into the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound in Occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday.

Local sources affirmed that a large group of settlers guarded by Israeli police broke into the holy Islamic site.

Usually Jewish settlers storm the holy site every day in the morning and afternoon through its Al-Mughrabi Gate southwest of the Mosque except Fridays and Saturdays.

Israeli police began allowing the settler incursions in 2003 despite repeated condemnations from the Islamic Endowment Department.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is the world’s third-holiest site for Muslims. Israel occupied East Jerusalem where Al-Aqsa is located during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War.

It annexed the entire city in 1980 a move never recognized by the international community.

Jewish settlers resumed their daily intrusions into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday morning and performed Talmudic rituals there under Israeli police protection.

Jerusalemite sources reported that 65 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa courtyards in groups from the Maghareba Gate and left from the al-Silsila Gate.

The sources pointed out that settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals amid the deployment of the occupation police.

The frequency of these incursions increases during the period of Jewish festivals.

The so-called Temple Groups had called for mass desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque through their websites and social platforms.

Meanwhile calls continue for all Muslims in 1948 Occupied Palestine and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to intensify their presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront the Jewish settlers’ incursions.
