Five political detainees in PA jails on hunger strike

Five political detainees in Palestinian Authority (PA) jails have been on hunger strike for different days in protest at their detention with no guilt.

According to the Family Committee of Political Prisoners Mohamed al-Azmi a young man from Jenin has been on hunger strike for 34 days.

Azmi was kidnaped by the PA intelligence apparatus 122 days ago.

Another young man called Basel Hanaysha from Qabatiya has been on hunger strike for 22 days. He was kidnaped by the PA preventive security apparatus 91 days ago.

Hanaysha was reportedly injured when PA interrogators used violence to force him to make false confessions.

As for prisoner Nouruddin Jarbou he started his hunger strike 23 days ago despite his suffering from some health problems.

Two brothers called Saleh and Ahmed Faraj residents of Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem also started their hunger strike nine days ago in protest at their illegal detention. They have been in Jericho jail for 55 days.
