Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has wished Turkish president Recep Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan good health and a speedy recovery after they tested positive for COVID-19.
This came in a message sent on Sunday by Haneyya to president Erdogan according to a statement released by the Hamas Movement.
“I express in my name and on behalf of the Movement’s leadership our wishes for your speedy recovery and we ask Allah to guard you against any illness” Haneyya said.
In a Twitter message on Saturday Erdogan announced that he and his wife tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms.
“We have a mild infection thankfully which we learned to be the Omicron variant” Erdogan said in a tweet. “We are on duty. We will continue to work from home. We look forward to your prayers” he said.
