GAZA (PIC)– The Hamas Movement has urged Palestinian local parties who are trying to employ heinous killing of the four schoolchildren to serve their political goals to stop playing with words because the “Palestinian people know the truth and will prosecute the criminals”.
In a statement it issued Monday and a copy of which was faxed to the PIC Hamas condemned the ugly crime that claimed lives of five innocent Palestinian citizens including four children (three of them were brothers) and wounded seven other pupils.
The statement also indicated that the killing of the four children came just a day after the convoy of PA interior minister Sa’eed Siyam was targeted by an armed group. The executive force of the ministry arrested the assailants hours later and put them under interrogation.
“It became obvious for us that those criminal acts were coordinated and came in the framework of destabilizing the Palestinian arena in a bid to overthrow the Hamas-led PA government and to justify calls made by a number of Palestinian figures in Fatah faction to go to early presidential and legislative elections in the PA” the statement underlined.
The PLO’s executive committee which majority of the Palestinian people believe is illegal and questionable urged PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to call for early elections. Abbas was reportedly studying the recommendation.
“The best way before the Palestinian people is to form a national unity government that would consolidate Palestinian ranks and cut the way before divisiveness-mongers and ill-wishers in the Palestinian community who tamper with its security” Hamas underscored in the statement.
It also invited the entire Palestinian people to remain vigilant to thwart suspicious attempts influenced and supported by Israel and the USA with the aim to push them into the marsh of civil war.
Tens of thousands of Hamas supporters demonstrated in Gaza in condemnation of the crime that according to them transcended all values and ethics of the Palestinian society.
The demonstrators stopped before house of the victims’ family in Al-Remal suburb in Gaza city where they extended their condolences to the family and urged PA security apparatuses to chase and round up the perpetrators.
An unknown armed group opened their machinegun fire at a civilian car in Gaza city and deliberately killed the four children before fleeing the place.
Palestinian internal arena was calm during the past five weeks during the national dialogue to form the unity government but frequency of unfortunate incidents including demonstrations by elements of the Fatah-controlled PA security apparatuses the assault on Siyam’s motorcade and killing of the young children among other planned incidents accelerated immediately after Abbas announced failure of the dialogue and calls flew here and there on him to dissolve the elected PA government.
