Resheq: Bennett’s remarks “slap to those chasing peace mirage”

Saturday 29-January-2022

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq has described Israeli premier Naftali Bennett’s recent remarks about a Palestinian state as “a slap in the face of those chasing the mirage of the frivolous peace talks.”

“Not allowing any talks that could lead to a Palestinian state exposes once again the reality of this enemy and its war against our land and people” Resheq said in press remarks on Friday.

“The Palestinian state is not begged but rather it will be wrested by our people forcibly and with their steadfastness and valiant resistance. It is inevitably coming” the Hamas official underscored.

Bennett pledged on Friday that a Palestinian state would not be established during his term and that there would be no second Oslo agreement. This came in an interview with the newspaper “Israel Hayom.”

“I oppose establishing a Palestinian state and I do not allow political negotiations on the line of a Palestinian state” he said.

He also reiterated his refusal to meet Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas.
