The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has warned of the Israeli continued ban on medical equipment’s access into the Gaza Strip.
Speaking at a press conference held near to Erez border crossing on Sunday head of the Medical Imaging Department at the Health Ministry Ibrahim Abbas said that the Israeli authorities have prevented the entry of eight Radiography equipment for more than a year.
He further pointed out that Israeli occupation prevents Palestinians from accessing proper treatment inside and outside the besieged Strip.
Abbas said that Israeli occupation authorities have been preventing the entry of medicines medical devices and important diagnostic equipment that are important to the governmental and non-governmental health sectors.
The Israeli restrictions on medical equipment would prevent the Health Ministry from providing the appropriate medical care to all patients he added.
Abbas called on the international health and humanitarian institutions to put pressures on Israel to allow diagnostic medical devices’ entry into the Gaza Strip especially in light of the large-scale surge of the virus COVID-19.
