Injuries arrests reported in West Bank weekly protests

About one hundred Palestinians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets and tear-gas bombs heavily fired by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) as clashes broke out throughout the West Bank on Friday.

Palestinian Red Crescent affirmed that 99 injuries were reported in Nablus and Qalqilia anti-settlement clashes.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said 99 Palestinians were hurt during the clashes including 15 by rubber-coated bullets and 77 by tear gas. Seven others suffered other injuries.

Three Palestinians were also rounded up as clashes broke out Friday evening near Beit Ummar town in al-Khalil while dozens more suffered tear gas inhalation problems.

The clashes erupted when IOF soldiers violently stormed Asida area in Beit Ummar amid intensive firing of tear-gas bombs.

Three other Palestinian youths were rounded up in Mariha area near Ya’bad town in Jenin.

Similar clashes broke out in Kafr Qaddoum town east of Qalqilia where several rubber-coated bullet injuries and tear-gas inhalation cases were reported.

In Ramallah the IOF violently suppressed a pro-prisoners march. A journalist was among dozens injured during the protest.

In Bethlehem IOF soldiers and settlers stormed Tekoa town and opened fire at local residents. A young man was arrested during the confrontation.

In al-Khalil two young men were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets and dozens of people suffered tear gas inhalation difficulties as clashes broke out in Bab Al-Zawiya area.

Along the same line armed settlers attacked Susiya village in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil and opened fire at the locals’ homes.

Similar clashes erupted in Beit Duqu town in Occupied Jerusalem following a pro-prisoners march.

Every Friday Palestinians stage demonstrations across the West Bank to protest Israel’s ongoing policy of building Jewish-only settlements on stolen Palestinian land.

According to estimates some 640000 Jewish settlers currently live in 196 settlements and more than 200 settler outposts throughout the occupied West Bank.
