Jewish settlers uproot dozens of olive seedlings in Salfit Nablus

Two groups of Jewish settlers stole dozens of olive seedlings in Salfit and chopped down dozens of trees in Nablus on Thursday.

Backed by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) settlers from Alei Zahav illegal settlement stormed Palestinian-owned agricultural lands west of Salfit and stole dozens of olive seedlings.

Local sources affirmed that the settlers stole a tractor 80 olive seedlings and mobile phones belonging to the land’s owner.

In Nablus another group of settlers cut down 46 olive trees in Burin village.

Meanwhile dozens of Palestinians on Thursday evening held a vigil at the main entrance to Umm al-Fahm city; protesting the settlers’ escalated attacks in occupied Jerusalem and West Bank.

Palestinian flags and banners condemning settlers’ attacks were raised during the protest.

Last week has seen an escalation of settler attacks against several Palestinian villages in the Nablus Governorate where Israeli forces did not intervene to stop the attacks in most cases and often actively joined in.

Last Saturday 247 Palestinians were injured following an attack by the IOF and extremist settlers on the village of Burqa to the north of Nablus in the West Bank according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that from January to November 2021 Israeli settlers carried out 427 attacks in the West Bank including Occupied Jerusalem.

There are more than 300 illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank which Israel occupied in 1967. More than 666000 Jewish settlers make life more difficult for Palestinians living under the occupation.
