Palestinian citizens living in al-Ara’ra area in Wadi Qelt valley near Jericho on Saturday evening launched distress calls to protect them and their property against extremist Jewish settlers.
Al-Ara’ra residents called on their compatriots from other nearby areas to stand by them to ward off the settlers who attacked their areas with a herd of dogs and spread panic among their children and women.
They called for forming local guard committees to protect them and confront any possible attacks by settlers.
This settler attack took place as other groups of settlers from the extremist hilltop youths continued their attempts to attack Burqa village in the northwest of Nablus.
After the shooting incident last Thursday night that led to the killing of a violent settler and the injury of two others from the notorious hilltop youth gang (supported by the Israeli government) their fellow settlers attacked homes in Burqa causing widespread damage to some of them. Settlers also have been trying to storm it again since then for more attacks.
This situation prompted Palestinian citizens from other villages and towns in the West Bank to flock to Burqa to defend it against settler attacks.
