IOF maps house of Abu Shukhaydam to demolish it

Wednesday 8-December-2021

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday mapped the house of martyr Fadi Abu Shukhaydam a Hamas-affiliated noted figure from east Jerusalem who carried out a shooting operation in the Old City on November 21.

According to local sources a large number of Israeli soldiers stormed Anata street in Shuafat refugee camp raided the house of Abu Shukhaydam before military engineers embarked on taking its measurements as a prelude to demolishing it later.

On 23rd November the IOF broke into and ransacked the house of Abu Shukhaydam and removed banners and pictures of Abu Shukhaydam from its front wall.

Abu Shukhaydam’s family has been exposed to different forms of persecution at the hands of the Israeli military and security forces since the operation that killed a Jewish settler and injured three others.

Demolishing homes as a form of collective punishment is one of the most extreme measures that Israel has employed in the West Bank including east Jerusalem since the occupation began in 1967 (and until 2005 in the Gaza Strip).

Over the years Israel has demolished hundreds of houses as part of this policy leaving thousands of Palestinians homeless.
