Saturday 13-November-2021

Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri deputy head of the Hamas political bureau said on Friday evening that the West Bank is to witness a new uprising against Israeli occupation.

His statements came during the funeral of former Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Wasfi Qabha who died yesterday from COVID-19 at the age of 62 in Jenin.

Al-Arouri who was speaking over the phone said that the large number of those who participated in the funeral confirm the popular strong support for the Palestinian resistance.

Al-Arouri also hailed the deceased’s strong positions in defense of Palestinian prisoners’ issue and Palestinian cause as a whole.

On Thursday top Hamas official Wasfi Qabha passed away at the age of 62 after suffering from COVID-19 complications.

In recent weeks Qabha’s health seriously worsened and he had been placed under total anesthesia and attached to a ventilator.

Qabha is a former minister of prisoners’ affairs in the tenth Palestinian government (Ismail Haneyya’s government). He was exposed to several serious assaults and survived assassination attempts. He was also arrested several times and spent about 14 years in Israeli jails.
