The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday arrested two Palestinian brothers as they were trying to fend off extremist Jewish settlers in the Bedouin hamlet of Lucifer east of Masafer Yatta in al-Khalil.
Local official Fuaad al-Amour said that the IOF rounded up two brothers identified as Othamn and Abbas Abu Qebaita as they stood in the face of settlers who attacked the hamlet which is isolated by a separation wall.
According to Amour the local residents already managed to extract an Israeli court verdict proving their ownership of the land where their hamlet is located.
Despite the court order the settlers living illegally in the area have persisted in brutalizing the villagers under military protection.
