The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 15 deaths 2501 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded during the past 24 hours.
The ministry said in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that seven deaths were recorded in the Gaza Strip while eight deaths were recorded in the West Bank while the new cases were recorded as follows: 1690 in Gaza Strip and 811 in the West Bank.
It pointed out that there are 79 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units while 193 others are treated in the West Bank’s COVID-19 sections in various hospitals including 14 who have been placed on ventilators.
The recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 90.9 percent while the rate of active infections reached 8.1 percent and the death rate was 1 percent of all infections the ministry said.
It said that the recovery cases were recorded as follows: 1657 in Gaza Strip and 1134 in the West Bank.
Regarding the vaccination campaign the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 1271802 including 538410 who received the two doses of the vaccine the ministry concluded.
Meanwhile Kamal al-Shakhra the spokesman for the ministry of health warned that the epidemiological condition in Palestine is “very serious”.
He told “Voice of Palestine” radio station on Thursday that the fourth wave of COVID-19 was spreading quickly and called on the citizens to get vaccinated the soonest.
