The Palestinian health ministry on Tuesday reported six new deaths associated with COVID-19 (coronavirus) 2753 new positive tests and 2005 recoveries in the West Bank the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem during the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry’s daily report the six victims who died of the virus are from the West Bank.
76 critically ill COVID-19 patients are also receiving intensive care in hospitals and 19 of them have been placed on ventilators.
In addition another 185 patients are receiving medical care in hospitals and special COVID-19 treatment centers in the West Bank.
90.8 percent of the total cases have recovered from the disease while the rate of active cases has reached 8.2 percent and the rate of deaths is 1.0 percent of the total cases according to data updated today by the ministry.
In a related context the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza has held the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for spoiling 50000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine after delaying their entry to the coastal territory and leaving them for long hours in unsuitable transportation and cooling conditions.
The ministry had received last Thursday a shipment of Sputnik Light vaccines sent by the health ministry in Ramallah through the Karam Abu Salem border crossing but after following a series of approved procedures to examine them it was found that they were unfit for use.
