Two Palestinian fishermen were reported missing on Saturday morning after they went fishing yesterday off the coast of Rafah south of the Gaza Strip.
According to the Fishermen Committees in Gaza the fishermen were supposed to return in the evening of the same day but contact with them has been lost since then.
Efforts are underway to find the fishermen or any information about their fate.
Local sources did not rule out that the fishermen could have been attacked and kidnaped by Israeli naval forces.
Israeli gunboats are around Gaza fishermen almost every day harassing them shooting at them damaging their boats and making arrests. Sometimes fishermen are injured or killed during gunfire attacks.
However Egyptian forces have also been involved in deadly shooting attacks on Gazan fishermen for many years.
