Haneyya sends protest letter to AUC Chairperson

Friday 30-July-2021

Ismail Haneyya Hamas’s leader sent a protest letter to Moussa Faki Chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC) on Friday on the admission of Israel as an observer state in the AU.

Haneyya denounced granting the usurping Israeli entity the status of an observer member of the AU because it contradicts all the values and principles on which the Union is based.

He pointed out that the AU has always defended the rights of Africans to self-determination and freedom and stands with Palestine and its just cause against the terrorism that the Palestinians and their Islamic and Christian lands and sanctities have been exposed to at the hands of the “Zionist entity” for more than seventy years.

He said that Israel exploits this status as a cover to legitimize its existence implement its colonial plans continue its abhorrent occupation of Palestine and escalate its aggression against the Palestinian land and the people.

The Hamas leader called on the Chairperson of AUC to reverse this shocking decision indicating that it does not reflect the historical positions of the Union towards the Palestinian cause.

Haneyya also renewed his call for practical steps to reject and criminalize normalization with the “Zionist enemy” which he described as a major and unforgivable sin.

“Our people hope that world countries governments and organizations would adopt a firm stand against the occupation and its aggressive projects and its terrorist practices and stand alongside the Palestinians until liberating their land and returning to it and living in an independent sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital” he underlined.
