Wadi Hilweh resident flee house after selling it to Jewish settlers

Thursday 29-July-2021

Jewish settlers on Wednesday evening took over another house in Wadi Hilweh neighborhood in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan after its owner reportedly “leaked” it to a settler group.

In a statement the Wadi Hilweh Information Center said that the house is an apartment and belonged to a Palestinian woman called Fawziya Zahran who fled to Jordan after selling the property to a settler group.

Zahran owned the house after her husband Ahmed al-Qaq assigned its ownership to her many years ago.

In this regard al-Qaq family announced that they disowned their father’s wife after it leaked their property to settlers describing what she did as “treason against her religion and people.”

The family said it had informed the competent authorities about what happened and asked them to intervene to have the deal revoked but to no avail.

Over three weeks ago settlers also seized a house in the same neighborhood after its owner Waleed Ahmed Attout “leaked” it to the “Ateret Cohanim” settler group and fled the area with his family without taking their personal belongings.
