Rocket fire from Lebanon target northern Israel

Tuesday 20-July-2021

Two rocket projectiles were fired at northern Israel (1948-occupied Palestine) from Lebanon early Tuesday morning setting off warning sirens in the Western Galilee region the Israeli occupation army said.

One of the rockets was intercepted by Israel’s anti-missile defense system while the second projectile fell in an open area near the coast according to Israeli claims.

There were no Israeli reports of injuries or damage.

Soon later the Israeli army fired several artillery rounds into southern Lebanon in response to the rocket fire.

Such development came a few hours after Syrian state media said an Israeli warplane fired a number of missiles at targets near the Syrian city of Aleppo.

Earlier the official SANA news agency said that Syrian air defenses repelled the airstrikes near the town of al-Safirah southeast of Aleppo.

A few days ago the Israeli army also said that a spy drone fell in Lebanese territory due to a technical malfunction.

An army spokesperson claimed that no sensitive information had been lost due to the crash and there was no risk of intelligence being taken from the drone.
