Elderly woman injured in settler attack on W. Bank village

Saturday 19-June-2021

A Palestinian elderly woman was injured at dawn Saturday when a horde of extremist Jewish settlers attacked at-Tuwanah village in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil.

Chief of the village council Mohamed al-Rab’iee said that settlers infiltrated into the village at dawn and hurled stones at homes injuring 70-year-old Fatima al-Rab’iee.

Local activist Rateb al-Jabour said the elderly woman suffered from a moderate injury and was taken by a Red Crescent ambulance crew to a hospital.

Jabour added that the settlers came from the illegal settlement of Ma’on calling on the local residents to be vigilant and work on protecting their property and homes against settler attacks.

Al-Tuwanah villagers face extremely difficult conditions because of their exposure to daily attacks by settlers and soldiers.

In another incident a gang of settlers on Friday evening threw rocks at Palestinian vehicles traveling on the Jenin-Nablus road in the West Bank.

Local official Ghassan Daghlas said that settlers infiltrated through the site of the evacuated settlement of Homesh and rallied near the Jenin-Nablus road before embarking on showering passing cars with rocks.

Several cars sustained damage in the settler attack Daghlas added.
