Dozens injured as IOF quells marches in W. Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday suppressed a march against settlement activity in Beit Dajan village east of Nablus injuring a number of Palestinian citizens.

According to medical sources eight participants in the march were injured by rubber bullets one was hit in his leg by a tear gas canister two others had burns in their hands and dozens suffered from their exposure to tear gas.

Local sources said that the participants rallied for the Friday prayer in the central area of the village before marching eastwards to protest the establishment of a Jewish settler outpost on annexed lands.

Meanwhile a Palestinian young man suffered a bullet injury in his head on Friday afternoon during clashes with the IOF in Silwad town east of Ramallah.

Local sources said that a young man was badly injured in his head by a rubber bullet during skirmishes between local youths and Israeli soldiers in Silwad and was rushed to a hospital for medical assistance.

Dozens others suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes during the events.

The clashes started after the IOF attacked a peaceful march organized by local activists to demand the Israeli occupation authority to hand over the bodies of detained martyrs including martyr Mohamed Hammad 30 who was killed by Israeli soldiers on May 14.
