Israel shows its true colors

Thursday 10-June-2021

Young social media activists succeeded in exposing the occupation state for what it really is in terms of its fragility and weakness on the one hand and brutality and tyranny on the other contrary to the image that has been constantly promoted by Zionists who claim that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.

Activists have documented all these discrepancies with sound and image as they managed to film a soldier quarrelling with a young man who climbed on top of his armored vehicle to raise the Palestinian flag and recorded Israeli security elements trying to arrest a broom or an officer who attempted to detain a seven-year-old for allegedly throwing stones! Behind them some other soldiers arresting a child under the age of 12 for the “crime” of raising the Palestinian flag on his bicycle.

The occupation and its aides are wasting their energy and efforts in pursuing those showing solidarity with the people of the neighborhoods where Palestinians are threatened with forced displacement and chasing everyone who raises a Palestinian flag even if it is drawn on a kite.

A few days ago the occupation police announced that the owner of a juice shop had been summoned for interrogation for allegedly distributing free cocktails named after the Jerusalem Intifada during the last events in Jabel Mukaber in occupied Jerusalem.

These examples and many more show how weak the invaders are and how they are filled with fear.

Through its racism and stupidity the Israeli occupation motivates people to resist for the sake of Palestine as it insists on Judaizing the state and therefore excludes other religions and practicing racist and discriminatory laws against the Arab citizens of Israel.

The occupation has torn the country apart with the walls of apartheid while relentlessly attempting to evict people from their homes not to mention murdering and arresting children and the list goes on.

These atrocities gave insight to the international community about the true face of the Zionist state leading to a dramatic fall of global support for the occupation in favor of a rising wave of sympathy towards the Palestinian narrative which came to the fore thanks to the marches of solidarity with Palestine that swept the world during the recent aggression.

In his article entitled Israel should take note: the weight of opinions is turning against it Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland said that “the #FreePalestine could be on its way to joining #MeToo or #BlackLivesMatter as an issue that a global generation regards as of paramount importance championed not just by politicians but by the leading lights of popular culture from footballers to singers to fashion influencers with millions of followers.”

A survey conducted by YouGov a global public opinion and data company revealed a recent decline in the popularity of the occupation state in all European countries.

The analytics group stated on its website that “Israel’s favorability across Europe has suffered significantly since we last tested it in February with net favorability for the nation falling by at least 14 points in all countries surveyed.”

YouGov demonstrated that Israel is least favorable amongst Britons adding that Israel’s favorability is lowest amongst Labor voters of whom only 13 per cent view Israel favorably while 68 per cent have a negative opinion on its policies.

The data company also indicated that 52 per cent of conservative voters have an unfavorable impression of Israel compared to 29 per cent who view the Zionist state favorably noting that the “next highest fall in Israel’s favorability” is seen in France Germany Sweden and other countries around the world.

I recall here when the founder of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) Nahum Goldmann said that the Israelis’ confidence in their constant superiority has ended as their internal moral front has undergone an unprecedented state of weakness… and this is the most dangerous predicament that can be experienced by nations in general and Israel in particular.
