Egypt sends 2500 tons of aid to war-torn Gaza

Egypt on Friday announced it sent the largest aid convoy to the Palestinian people in the embattled Gaza Strip which consists of 130 trucks loaded with 2500 tons of vital aid and other needs.

The convoy left for Gaza in compliance with directives from President Abdul-Fattah as-Sisi who instructed “Tahya Misr Fund” to help the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The convoys comprises 120 containers with 2500 tons of foodstuffs vegetables frozen poultry fruits mattresses carpets blankets disinfectants medical masks clothes and medicines presidential spokesman Bassam Radi told journalists.

Egypt in cooperation with the US administration has managed to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Palestinian resistance factions.

The ceasefire went into effect at dawn Friday following 11 days of brutal Israeli bombardment that claimed the lives of around 279 civilians including 69 children 40 women and 17 elderlies.

Over 8900 Gazans have also suffered injuries 90 of them in serious conditions.
