Israeli police detained Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib the deputy leader of the Islamic movement in 1948 Occupied Palestine after raiding his house in Kafr Kana in the Galilee on Friday night.
Local sources said that the police forces surrounded Khatib’s house and assaulted his family members before taking him away.
Violent confrontations took place after the arrest between young men in the village and the Israeli police during which policemen fired teargas and live bullets at the nearby houses.
