At least 39 Palestinian citizens suffered from tear gas injuries and four others including a girl from bruises after Jewish settlers and army forces on Saturday evening attacked at-Tuwani village in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil.
According to local sources a horde of extremist Jewish settlers infiltrated into Tuwani village and attacked homes before local residents managed to fend them off and force them to withdraw to al-Ahrash area.
Soon later Israeli forces intervened to protect the settlers and intensively fired tear gas and stun grenades at the local residents and their homes.
Several locals including women and children inside homes suffered from their exposure to tear gas.
Following that assault the Israeli occupation forces laid siege to the village as a punitive measure against the local residents for resisting the settlers.
