Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya on Friday talked over the phone with a number of officials in the region and urged them to intervene to stop Israel’s aggression at the Aqsa Mosque.
According to a statement released by the Hamas Movement Haneyya warned during his contacts with the officials that such aggressive practices against the Palestinians at the Aqsa Mosque would lead to dire consequences.
Later the Hamas political leader described what happened in Occupied Jerusalem last night as “a massive popular uprising and revolution that must continue.”
“Despite the Israeli barbarism on the ground Jerusalem has torn apart the deal of the century with its people’s steadfastness and the reservoir of struggle that is inside every Palestinian citizen” Haneyya said in televised remarks on al-Aqsa satellite channel.
“We say to Netanyahu: Do not play with fire. This is a battle you cannot win” the Hamas leader added.
On Friday night Israeli police forces stormed the Aqsa Mosque and embarked on attacking Muslim worshipers in its courtyards and buildings. Over 200 Palestinians suffered injuries in the events.
